Periods 1-5

Date:  2/4/13: 2 C
Number of Periods Left 18
Work Completed and Tools Used I was able to cut out the two front squares that were essential to my clock. I cut these out of plywood with a coping saw (actually Mr. Thorburn did it) and then I smoothed out the edges so that it was nice and smooth and all of the edges had no splinters and it could not harm anyone.
Tools Used: Coping Saw, File, Sand Paper, Plywood.
Problems Sometimes the file is hard to use, but I am staying on task.
Am I Keeping to My Plan of Action? Yes
What I need to do Next I now need to finish off the smoothing of the edges on the two pieces of wood that were. Next, I need to cut out a square in the middle of the bottom square.

Date:  5/4/13: 1 F
Number of Periods Left:  17
Work Completed and Tools Used Today I cut out a small square in the middle of one of the squares. Though to make sure the square was correct I needed to use a protractor to make sure it worked out (the angles) and then I needed to draw 90 degree angles to make the square perfect. After, Mr. Thorburn took a coping saw and sawed the square out in the middle. I was able to begin smoothing out the edges.
Tools Used: Pencil, Protractor, Coping Saw, File, Sand Paper, Steel Rule.
Problems The edges are hard to smooth in the middle.
Am I Keeping to My Plan of Action? No I am not. This is because in my plan I really wanted to do something differently because I didn’t realize that I could cut shapes inside of shapes.
What I need to do Next I need to finish smoothing out the middle and start cutting out the other pieces.

Date:  8/4/13: 1 G
Number of Periods Left: 16
Work Completed and Tools Used Today I finished smoothing out the middle of the wood pecies with a rectangle in the middle of a triangle. I was also able to cut out another piece. At home I was able to stain the pieces so that I can paint bit by bit. I also cut out another pieces but due to a small change in sizes this piece is unneeded.
Tools Used: Coping Saw, File, Sand Paper.
Problems No Problems.
Am I Keeping to My Plan of Action? Deffently not. Due to the change of sizes because of the pendulum, I need to change the sizes of my clock. It will be simple, but it will have to be noted down.
What I need to do Next I need to cut out the other pieces.

Date:  9/4/13: AT HOME
Number of Periods Left:  15
Work Completed and Tools Used At home I was able to paint the pieces. Also, due to technical difficulties we were not taught how to create a video, so we lost some time. I used this time at home to set up my website.
Problems We were delayed with building.
Am I Keeping to My Plan of Action? No, because I was going to do my website later, but I had to push the date forward.
What I need to do Next I need to cut out the face of my clock, paint it, and cut out the other pieces of my clock.

Date:  10/4/13: 1 B
Number of Periods Left:  14
Work Completed and Tools Used Today I cut out the circular face of my clock. I traced it out on a thinner piece of plywood then my other clock with a compass. Mr. Thorburn then cut this piece so it was smaller with a panel saw and I cut the circle out with a coping saw. After I cut the circle out with a coping saw, and made the edges quite smooth.
Tools Used: Protractor, Pencil, Plywood, Compass, Panel Saw, Coping Saw, File, Sand Paper.
Problems Sometimes it is difficult to use a Coping Saw.
Am I Keeping to My Plan of Action? No, because I was planning on not making the face pop out, but I have extra time so I have decided to do it.
What I need to do Next Cut out the other pieces of wood.
