Tools Used

TOOLS:
-Tenon Saw- The Tenon Saw is usually used to cut thin types of woods, but bigger tennon saws can be used to cut big heavy pieces of wood. This specific type of is a hand saw is usually made out of heavy metal to cut things easily.

-Hammer- The hammer is meant to hammer nails into things to attach them, or sometimes you can hit a hammer against something to straighten it out.

​

​

-File- This tool is to help with smoothness of object. If an object has a rough surface, this tool can be used like sandpaper, and can help create shapes as well, to shave small parts off of shapes.

​

​

-Engineer Square- This tool is used to create 90 degree angles, and is used to trace squares (or rectangles) at times.
 

​

-Screwdriver- These are used to screw on screws. They can spin things around and de-attach things. Screw drivers screw something on, typically they are attaching something.

​

​

-Craft knife- The craft knife is used to cut something very thin and on a flat surface. When one uses the craft knife, the scrape it across something when it is face down on the table.

​

-Pliers- Pliers are mainly used to bend and straighten things, or to flatten something. Sometimes pliers bend or straighten wire, and flatten pieces of metal.

-Steel Rule- The steel rule is a strong ruler that is made out of metal, mainly to use for things that are very solid. These rulers go up to 30 cm.

-Hacksaw- The hacksaw is used to cut wood, and can be used mostly to cut small pieces of wood, but can also cut metal and plastic as well. But the hacksaw mainly cuts small pieces of wood.

-Coping Saw- The coping saw is a saw that has a very thin blade, that is stretched across a shape like a U, and us used for cutting curves in wood.

​

-Scissors- Scissors are used to cut very thin materials, such as plastic sheet. Scissors cannot be used to cut wood or metal.

​

​

-Snips- These tools are hand tools that are used to cut thin metal. Snips are similar to scissors, but snips are used to cut things that are harder and more solid.
